Important information about Opus Energy
21/10/2024
Following an agreement to sell most of our customer portfolio to EDF, the transfer of customer contracts took place on 1 September 2024.
What this news means for our non-impacted customers
We wrote to our customers whose contracts didn’t migrate to EDF letting them know nothing would change about their current contract, and they didn’t need to do anything.
However, we’re no longer accepting new business contracts nor renewing customer contract(s), so you’ll need to find an alternative supplier if your current contract is with us.
You can switch by talking to a Third Party Intermediary (TPI), visiting price comparison websites or contacting another supplier directly.
If you don’t switch to a new supplier at the end of the fixed term period of your contract, you’ll be charged our Variable or Out of Contract rates in line with your existing Terms and Conditions.
Your supply could be transferred to an alternative supplier should any future decisions be made to sell our remaining customer portfolio, or could be transferred to Drax Energy Solutions, who are also part of the Drax Group. We’ll let you know in advance should this happen.
Switching information can also be found at Ofgem’s website: ofgem.gov.uk/information-consumers/energy-advice-businesses.
